Prad Bains
The community champion fighting for Hamble Valley
The Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that Prad Bains has been re-selected as the Lib Dem candidate for the Hamble Valley Parliamentary constituency.
In the 2024 General Election, the Lib Dems achieved 14,869 votes in the newly created Hamble Valley constituency, resulting in the Party now needing a swing of just 2,402 votes to win this seat at the next General Election. The seat is now also in the top 10 closest constituencies for potential Lib Dem gains in the country.
Prad Bains is a Councillor for Hamble & Netley in the heart of the Hamble Valley constituency. He has campaigned strongly on issues such as the cost-of-living crisis, sewage pollution in our rivers and the urgent need for better access to NHS appointments.
Prad Bains, the Lib Dem candidate for Hamble Valley, said:
“I’m thrilled to have the backing of our Party once again to be the Lib Dem candidate for Hamble Valley. I’m very proud of the result we achieved at the 2024 General Election that has now put us in an excellent position to win Hamble Valley at the next election. As an elected Councillor within the constituency, I understand first-hand the issues that matter to local residents the most and what they want and need from their MP.
We’ve seen in recent by-elections within the constituency that it’s the Lib Dems who local people are backing because we not only already deliver for residents here, but offer the positive and real change people are seeking at a national level as well. I will continue to stand up for local residents and fight for every community across the constituency”.
Prad says NO to Hamble Gravel!
Prad was one of the strongest voices that REJECTED the Conservative County's plans for gravel extraction at Hamble Airfield.
“I need Prad alongside me to make the case for our villages”, says our County Councillor Keith House. “Cemex will have a battery of London lawyers on their side. We will have common-sense and the voices of our community.”
We need a Member of Parliament who will stand up for Hamble Valley. Prad will fight to make sure our villages are cared for.
The Lib Dems have a record of ACTION for our villages
Prad Bains and our local team have:
- OPPOSED plans from Cemex and County bosses for gravel extraction at Hamble Airfield
- FINALISED the Local Plan, despite Conservative opposition, with NO additional housing on the Hamble peninsula
- PRESSED Hampshire County Council to get on with long-promised action on Hamble Lane
- BLOCKED greedy developers' housing plans at Mallards Road and Hound Corner
- CAMPAIGNED to improve local GP services
- SAVED YOU MONEY by keeping Council Tax down
The Conservatives have axed vital services in Hampshire - and now they want to raise Council Tax by £230. Prad will stand up for Hamble and Netley
At the next general election voters will have a clear choice at this by-election. They can send the Conservatives a message that they want a candidate in Prad who will stand up for our area and fight to protect local services.
