Prad Bains elected County Councillor for Eastleigh South
Liberal Democrat campaigner Prad Bains has been elected as the new County Councillor for Eastleigh South.
Prad secured 2,429 votes at the May 2026 Hampshire County Council elections, winning the seat for the Liberal Democrats ahead of Reform UK, the Greens, the Conservatives and Labour.
The result is another important step forward for the Liberal Democrats locally, with Prad now representing residents across Eastleigh South on Hampshire County Council.
As a local campaigner and Borough Councillor for Hamble & Netley, Prad has already built a strong record of standing up for residents across the area.
He has campaigned against plans for gravel extraction at Hamble Airfield, pushed for action on local roads and championed issues affecting communities across Hamble Valley.
Prad said: “I’m delighted to have been elected to represent Eastleigh South. I’m looking forward to getting to work for residents across the division and making sure their concerns are heard at County Hall.
“There is a huge amount to do, particularly as Hampshire goes through the biggest change to local government in decades. I’ll work hard to make sure local people get the representation they deserve.”
Prad will continue to serve as a Borough Councillor for Hamble & Netley alongside his new county role.
