To stand for election as a Liberal Democrat in Eastleigh, you must be approved and selected by the local party. Approvals for 2027 elections are now open.

Dear member,
In 2027, Lib Dems will be fighting elections to the new South West Hampshire Unitary Council. We have a once-in-a-generation chance to shape this new authority into a local, liberal, hard-working council that will deliver for the people of Southampton, Eastleigh, and the Waterside.
To stand on behalf of the Liberal Democrats, potential candidates need to be approved and then selected by one of local parties within the area of the new authority.
The approval and selection process for elections in May 2027 will begin shortly, and, if you would like to seek approval, you must submit an application form by the 23rd August 2026.
Approval interviews will take place over Zoom in August and September.
