Liz Jarvis at Fair Oak waste centre

Hampshire County Council is forecasted an £132 million budget shortfall by April 2025, with deep cuts to services planned.

As part of the proposals, the county council has detailed its plan, which includes the future closure of 12 household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) which would save up to £1.6 million a year. The list of proposed sites include Fair Oak and Hedge End, affecting thousands of households in Eastleigh Borough. HCC are also considering a series of new fees and charges and a decrease in services offered.

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidates for the Eastleigh and Hamble Valley constituencies, Liz Jarvis and Prad Bains, have called on Hampshire County Council to reverse these plans and is working with residents to oppose the closure of vital waste services.
