Waste Traffic Avoided

A major waste processing company applied to Hampshire County Council to double the amount of waste they currently handle at their Tower Lane site between Eastleigh and Bishopstoke.

Lib Dem Councillors expressed concern and the good news is the plan has now been withdrawn.

The proposal would have dramatically increased the number of HGVs travelling on the road corridors into Eastleigh and heading for the motorways.

The company wanted to extend opening hours to receive lorries between 4am-6am and 8pm-11pm.

We will be keeping an eye out for future applications.  Last year there was a suggestion that Hampshire wanted to put the biggest waste processing facility in the County at Tower Lane, yet still not fund our missing bypass.

Tackling traffic is our biggest local priority.

We’re on YOUR side!
