Eastleigh: Number unemployed dips below 1000

The number of people claiming unemployment benefit has now dropped to just 947 (1.7%) in the Eastleigh constituency, official employment figures published today reveal. The figures represent a 27% fall in those claiming Job Seeker Allowance at the same time last year.

Eastleigh joins national campaign to get young unemployed into work

Premier Foods has more than doubled its support for the Feeding Britain’s Future campaign in 2013, offering skills training to help tackle youth unemployment. 

The Company held an open day on 26TH September at its Eastleigh site as part of its support for the nationwide campaign, with local MP Mike Thornton joining the team to talk to the young people involved about the scheme and finding out more about their job searches.
