HUHNE WELCOMES CHP PLANT AT FLEMING PARK

Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne today welcomed the delivery of the new combined heat and power gas turbine at the Fleming Park leisure centre in Eastleigh.

"This project is another example of Eastleigh leading the way on a green innovation that makes sense for the environment while saving money for council tax payers. Such a combined heat and power plant makes big savings in energy, and also cuts the losses that occur in the transmission of electricity across long distances. We don't trumpet Eastleigh's successes on the environment enough: for example, the latest official figures also show that the borough is sixth out of 393 English councils for recycling."
