HUHNE WELCOMES COURT DECISION ON APW CASE3.40.34pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 26th Jan 2007
Commenting on the European Court of Justice ruling on pension funds Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne who has been involved in fighting the case for APW workers in his constituency, said: "This judgement is good news because it opens the door to a substantial improvement in the compensation paid to those in pension funds like APW, where those members under 50 have lost eighty per cent of their expected pension savings. "The only note of caution has to be that the government has a track record of using the small print to evade its obligations as we saw in the way it ignored the rulings of the parliamentary ombudsman."
