By just collecting stamps we can do a little bit more for a great local charity.

Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne has put in a festive appeal for extra help for the Naomi House children's hospice.

Mr Huhne visited the Naomi House shop in Eastleigh with two examples of seasonal recyclables - postage stamps and printer cartridges.

"Just by collecting all the stamps on cards received over Christmas, and handing them on to Naomi House, we can do just a little bit more for a great local charity that provides love and care for the county's unluckiest children" said Mr Huhne.

Mr Huhne is pictured at the Eastleigh shop with manager Viv Keay and examples of stamps and printer cartridges. Viv has been at the shop for two years. It is one of seven that the hospice has across the area, and it raises about £1700 a week through the efforts of 17 local volunteers.

"Naomi House is a purpose built children's hospice in Sutton Scotney which opened in 1997 to provide care - including respite, terminal and bereavement support - for children and young people who will die before they reach adulthood."
