The regulator must get tougher with the water companies

Commenting on the announcement that complaints against water companies in England and Wales rose by 11% in the last financial year, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP said:

"If water companies spent more money on fixing leaks and less money on shareholder dividends, then customer complaints would fall.

"The regulator must get tougher with the water companies if customers are to get the high-quality service they deserve."
