David Chidgey Appointed to House of Lords

David Chidgey, Eastleigh's Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament until the recent General Election was today formally appointed as a member of the House of Lords. David Chidgey was introduced to the House of Lords by Lib Dem peers, Baroness Williams and Lord Livsey. He becomes Baron Chidgey of Hamble-le-Rice.

David Chidgey, will continue to take an interest in the Eastleigh constituency and in foreign affairs issues. Earlier this year became honorary president of the local Liberal Democrats.
