In the run-up to the BBC's annual ‘Children in Need’ appeal tonight, Mike joins everyone's favourite teddy - Pudsey Bear - to help raise money for disadvantaged children and young people.
Eastleigh MP Mike Thornton got into the spirit of supporting Children in Need today when he met Pudsey Bear during his mobile surgery at Asda supermarket, Chandlers Ford.
In the run-up to the BBC's annual ‘Children in Need’ appeal tonight, Mike joined the famous teddy to help raise money for disadvantaged children and young people.
Mike said: “BBC Children in Need are doing a stellar job helping kids right here in the Eastleigh and across the country, reach their full potential.”
“It was great fun to join Pudsey today and help raise money for Children in Need 2014 and I am pleased to have been able to support their vital work this year. I would like to thank Asda in Chandlers Ford for inviting me.”
“We’ve had a great reaction from people today and I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped to make a donation.”
Hundreds of people, businesses and organisations across Eastleigh have joined in and supported this year’s appeal with a variety of imaginative fund-raising events
Children in Need is the BBC’s UK charity aiming to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children across the UK. The appeal is back tonight for yet another year and will be full of comedy, TV specials and live acts - including a performance of Strictly Come Dancing - all to raise money for a very good cause.
