More local jobs and apprenticeships

Railway_works_3_web.JPGLocal MP Mike Thornton and the local Liberal Democrats are fighting for local jobs.

Despite the terrible mess left behind by Labour, our economy is growing again, and unemployment in Eastleigh is down by 38% over the past year.

The Lib Dems have already created over 3,440 apprenticeships in Eastleigh since 2010, and delivered £20 million extra investment for local businesses thanks to the Lib Dem's Regional Growth Fund, helping to create 730 new jobs.

Thanks to the Lib Dem Council’s Ageas Bowl jobs plan, we will see 500 new jobs, and £50million extra in the local economy each year to help keep Council Tax low.

The Lib Dem team running Eastleigh Borough Council have done all of this while protecting frontline services from cuts that many Conservatives wanted to make.

But we want to go further, and create even more jobs in Eastleigh.

One_million_jobs.pngLib Dems in Government have already helped businesses across the country create 1.3 million new private sector jobs and 1.2 apprenticeship places, and now we are working to help create a million more jobs!

If you support more jobs in Eastleigh, sign the petition below now - and fill in Mike's jobs survey here!

"We the undersigned support Mike Thornton’s campaign to deliver more jobs for Eastleigh borough."
