Demand step-free access at Hedge End Station

The Liberal Democrats believe that everyone has the right to go about their lives without unnecessary hindrance - including people who use wheelchairs or have other mobility problems.

At present, people who can’t use stairs are forced to exit Hedge End station, travel across a narrow bridge without a pavement, and then down a narrow path – putting them in conflict with cars and lorries.

That’s why I’m demanding better from Network Rail and the secretary of state for transport by calling on them finally install step-free access at Hedge End station. It’s the decent thing to do. If you agree with me, please add your voice by signing our petition today.

We, the undersigned, call on Network Rail and the Secretary of State for Transport to recognise the need, and the right, of people with mobility issues to access and use public transport, and to install step-free access between the platforms at Hedge End Station.
