Eastleigh MP Mike Thornton is urging local musicians and film makers to enter Parliament’s biggest and best competition: Rock the House and Film the House.
Founded by Intellectual Property Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mike Weatherley MP, the competitions are sponsored by industry and supported by music legends such as Alice Cooper and Brian May.
Both competitions offer the opportunity for Eastleigh’s creatives to have their work judged by the leading lights of industry and win prizes ranging from festival slots, studio time, and equipment, not to mention the opportunity to perform in Parliament itself!
Local MP Mike Thornton said:
“I want to encourage any budding film directors or musicians to apply for this competition- it’s a wonderful opportunity to get your music and films noticed.
“With endorsements from music legends such as Brian May and Alice Cooper, and some excellent prizes on offer to the winners, I’m really excited to see what Eastleigh has to offer.”
Queen guitarist Brian May said:
“It is a great honour to back Rock the House. The UK is a hotbed of musical talent from all genres, and if the British music industry is going to grow and thrive then musicians need to be able to make a living from selling their product. This competition gives all musicians, from all backgrounds the chance to get out there and make live music – one of the things Brits do best.”
