The sun shone on Busy Bees pre school as staff and children welcomed Mike Thornton MP to its open day this July. The MP for Eastleigh chatted to staff and parents about the much loved pre school and even joined in some fun activities with the children.
The Open Day gave visitors a chance to experience a typical Busy Bees session and really get to know the pre school by talking to staff and parents. There were a huge range of activities for children to enjoy including the enclosed outside area where the trikes and the sand and water tables were extremely popular. Indoors, children enjoyed painting at the easels, drawing and playing with modelling clay, dressing up and cooking in the toy kitchen and playing with the large dolls house. Staff also opened the ‘Snack Bar’ where the children tucked into a healthy snack of banana, apple and a biscuit.
Busy Bees Supervisor Vanessa Sketcher said: "It was a great oportunity for prospective parents and their children to get to know our lovely pre school better and several have put their names down to start next year which is wonderful news."
Mike Thornton MP said: "I was very impressed with the Busy Bees, they have such a range of fun activities on offer for children and parents, and you could see how much the kids were enjoying the chance to play, socialise, learn and let their creativity run wild on the paint boards, in the sand pit and in the reading corner. Some of the painting skills on display were truly stunning, Horton Heath has some budding Da Vincis on its hands I think!
"The pre-school is offering the community of Horton Heath and Fair Oak a wonderful service with the great facilities, and the dedication and friendliness of the staff really shone through. Preparing children for the next step to Infants School is important, and Busy Bees clearly fits the bill, providing a fun, accessible and safe environment five days a week."
Busy Bees is located in the Horton Heath Community Centre and is open Monday to Friday for children from 2 years 9 months until they start infant school.
